Blizzard, Red Bull, Valentines Day Draws Thousands To Mount Snow

Blizzard, Red Bull, Valentines Day Draws Thousands To Mount Snow

New York City --- February 10, 2013 …Mount Snow, in West Dover, Vermont will be attracting thousands of skiers in the coming days. After Blizzard Nemo blanketed the mountain with over a foot of fresh snow, all trails are expected to be open this week.

Ski towns in Vermont were hit with wind gusts of up to 45 mph on Saturday, which forced Mount Snow to close certain lifts until the winds died down. Mount Snow, for example, was only about half open, though the new blizzard snowfall has now opened up 100 percent of its slopes for Sunday. Mount Snow's lifts are designed to handle high winds, says spokesman Dave Meeker.

The new “bubble” lift, for one, weighs a heavy 1,300 pounds before skiers climb aboard, and was designed aerodynamically to withstand strong winds; a shield completely encases riders so they stay comfortable on the way up.
If skiers and boarders decide they can’t handle it, resorts including Mount Snow, Hunter, Ski Sundown and Smuggler's Notch have snow guarantee policies that allow people to return their lift tickets within an hour in exchange for a voucher to return later.

But for those heading to Mount Snow on Sunday and the week ahead, can expect perfect ski conditions, sun, little wind and temperatures in the high 20's.

Mount Snow, with its 80 trails and 20 lifts, is hosting special Cloud Nine Nuptials on Valentines Day, February 14th. The southern Vermont ski and golf resort is also offering a deal for Valentine’s Day consisting of two lift tickets for $49 when purchased in advance online. Your wedding procession will be hosted by Mount Snow with a ride up a chairlift, the altar is a podium positioned at the pinnacle of a heart painted on the snow, and formal footwear is replaced with ski or snowboard boots. That will be the scene for "ski couples" wanting to renew their vows or tie the knot for the first time at a very romantic summit.

The fun continues the next day with the Red Bull Frozen Rush. For the first time ever, a short course off-road Pro4 racing truck will take to the snow in Vermont’s Green Mountains to battle gravity and the elements. The four-wheel drive vehicle, designed to handle just about anything a summertime off-road speedway can throw at it, will face an onslaught of new challenges when it enters Mount Snow's winter’s frozen playground. Soft snow, steep terrain, ice and freezing temperatures is a recipe for disaster in any vehicle, but that won’t slow down champion off-road racer, Ricky Johnson. Armed with a set of custom spiked and specially designed tires from BFGoodrich’s Research and Development team, Ricky will wager his skills, experience, and even his truck’s capabilities as he attempts to conquer the slopes.

Mount Snow, the largest and closet ski mountain to both Boston and New York, has been well known since 1954 for its warm environment and emphasis of placing safety first on the mountain. Recently, Mount Snow spent over $8.5 million on new ski lifts. The Bluebird Express just went into operation as a technologically advanced chairlift and it is nothing short of incredible. The bubbles on each chair can be lowered by the passengers to provide similar protection as a gondola cabin, but with the convenience of keeping skis and boards on their feet. The seven minute ride from base to summit is so smooth the only reason you would want it to end is so you can enjoy another amazing run down one of Mount Snow’s 80 trails.

Mount Snow has earned several awards for customer service. When Mother Nature is not making snow, Mount Snow is. Before the recent blizzard, Mount Snow was functioning beautifully with over 50 trails on a combination of natural and man made white gold. And during these difficult times, the skiing was excellent. One can only imagine what kind of winter paradise awaits both new and expert skiers with a fresh, natural coating of over 15 inches from the sky.

Hey, we forgot something. In addition to the new powder at Mount Snow the Bud Light Mardi Gras awaits you after finishing a long, challenging run tomorrow. Is it Mount Snow or Mount Fun?

Drive safe, ski safe and don't forget to take the sunglasses!

Poll: Jewish Democrats Abandoning Obama for Romney, Economy, Israel

Poll: Jewish Democrats Abandoning Obama for Romney, Economy, Israel

New York, New York --- October 4, 2012 ... Jewish Democrats who have voted for Democratic Presidents in the past four Presidential elections are now jumping ship and plan on voting for the economic and foreign policies advocated by US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The INA poll, which was released after the first Presidential debate last night where Mitt Romney clearly buried a depressed and nervous Barack Obama, illustrates that over fifty percent of all democratic voters are now either unsure or committed to voting for the Romney team.

Another poll released last month confirms predictions that Obama was losing up to a quarter of the Jewish votes he got in 2008.
The Investors Business Daily/Christian Science Monitor/TIPP Poll
gives a breakdown of religion along with other demographic groups.

"American Jews have always picked the liberal side due to their own history of suffering," said Joel Leyden, Director of Jews4MittRomney.com. "American Jews have always perceived the Democratic Party as being more sensitive and understanding to human issues. But after four years of no hope and no change, of unemployment at its worst rate in over 30 years, and with Israel being threatened with nuclear weapons by Iran, the Jewish vote is now going through an historic transition."

President Barack Obama was badly defeated in his first televised Presidential debate last night. Obama faced a confident, knowledgeable and aggressive Mitt Romney who was not intimated by the President's arrogance.

“Mitt Romney took control of the first debate and won it handily on both substance and style," said Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) Executive Director Matt Brooks.
“Last night Americans saw the real Mitt Romney, not the caricature of the negative attack ads and biased media reports. They saw Romney in command of the facts, secure in his principles and demonstrating the leadership and competence that has been missing in the White House for nearly four years."

Brooks added: “Romney made his case effectively on taxes, jobs, protecting the middle class, and health care. But he also gave voice to the enduring values of America, showed how far we have strayed from them under the Obama administration, and pledged to turn America back onto the path of economic growth and opportunity for all.”

All of US major media from CNN, FOX and the New York Times to AP, USAToday and the LA Times agreed that Obama was "rusty", "depressed" "not familiar with the issues" and "passive" when confronted by an articulate Romney.

"Obama is not used to being challenged in public," said Leyden. "He used master sales skills and was the right person at the right place using the right race card when running for his first term. American Jews as all Americans are now suffering. The lack of employment, homes being auctioned by banks, members of the US military not being allowed to vote and recent college graduates joining the unemployment lines have made everyone nervous. When one looks outside the US they see the Middle East in turmoil and America's most loyal ally - Israel - being ignored by the White House."

A Facebook group Jews for Mitt Romney has opened on the Internet and promises to answer many questions that Jewish democrats may have about Mitt Romney. As the Facebook groups states: "Republicans also have a heart. A very large and caring heart for Americans. We believe in enabling people, not making them dependent on government services. But if they need government services - they will be there."

"Barack Obama can ignore Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jewish children carrying gas masks in Israel but he can't ignore the US public," said Leyden.

"On February 1, 2009, Obama said that his presidency would be a “one-term proposition” if the economy did not recover in three years. As Romney, a documented success in making Massachusetts thrive as governor and US businesses prosper and grow as one of America's most respected business leaders, said last night - the President may own his own airplane and house, but he does not own the facts. The facts illustrate a failed President who has made many promises and has kept none."

United States News Agency Launches Operations Through Web 2.0

United States News Agency Launches Operations Through Web 2.0

New York ----- May 26, 2008 ....... The United States News Agency, an on-line, non-profit, non-governmental news site has begun operations as it begins its search for both professional editors and reporters in the US.

"The Internet has thousands of sources for news but very few of them were created for the Web," said United States News Agency publisher Joel Leyden. Leyden has worked as a journalist, international media consultant and Internet SEO Web 2.0 pioneer for 25 years. He is credited for co-creating Israel's first commercial Website and for establishing Israel's first on-line, government accredited news organization, the Israel News Agency, in 1995.

"At first, we will recruit volunteers to edit and report both hard news and feature news stories coming from the 50 states. Wikipedia has proven that a volunteer effort can work. Where Wikipedia failed, is that they allow their users to edit anonymously, without even knowing who their user editors and administrators are and where they come from. That leads to political and personal agendas packed with often unchecked slander and libel."

Many prominent and ordinary citizens and organizations have been hurt through Wikipedia negligence including USA Today Senior Editor John Seigenthaler who was reported by Wikipedia as being behind the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert F. Kennedy.

Recently, Wikipedia through an expose by The New Yorker found out that one of their senior editors, Essjay, who claimed to be a tenured professor of religion at a private university and held a doctorate was actually an unemployed 24-year-old student who never finished college. Essjay was even hired by Wikia, which is funded by investors Amazon.com and Omidyar Network. Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales even defended the fraud, stating that "EssJay has always been, and still is, a fantastic editor and trusted member of the community. He has been thoughtful and contrite about the entire matter, and I consider it settled."

The United States News Agency will enjoy full and complete transparency, accountability and objectivity as all news reports will first go through a professional, paid editorial board before being uploaded on-line."

Leyden says that the United States News Agency will become mostly professional in the coming months employing many of their volunteer editorial staff. At the same time, the USNA will keep on staff both a large core of volunteers and interns to keep operational costs low and reporting quality high and objective.

"The United States News Agency will use an abundance of Web 2.0 social networking tools including video and VOIP, encouraging our reporters to use their video phone cameras to file reports. We will employ RSS feeds, blogs, mobile Internet applications and all of the tools of Web 2.0 to make this happen. Unlike other news media outlets on the Net, we are not a news organization trying to adapt to the Internet but rather a news organization born from the Internet using search engine optimization (SEO) for all of our content. That may slightly change the English language, but not the substance of our news reports. USNA news and feature stories will be found and indexed quickly by all major search engines and placed in a high position. And that is what the consumer is seeking fast, objective and accurate news reporting that they can find in their homes, in their offices and on their telephones."

The United States News Agency has stated that they have entered talks with and look forward to professional associations with Google News, Twitter, DIGG, Del.icio.us, Facebook, Yahoo, Friendster, MySpace, YouTube, Blogger, LinkedIn and other Web 2.0 applications and news aggregators in our efforts to provide accurate, real time local and global news reports."

Leyden says that the site will be user friendly There will be no annoying pop-up advertising banner ads or contextual advertising but rather clean static banners, free of animated Flash with regular links posted nearby in the same manner for which Google operates.

The United States News Agency will incorporate several news and feature departments dedicated to news, features, politics, security, sports, health, food, real estate, opinion, business, travel, nature, green, movies, multimedia, economy, music, entertainment, dating, cars, high schools, universities and employment.

The United States News Agency is seeking to hire professional editors and reporters who have at least 5 years experience in print, broadcast and or Internet journalism. They are also inviting investors and venture capital firms to contact them at unitedstatesnewsagency@gmail.com.

The United States News Agency was born this week as a Web 2.0 blog at: unitedstatesnewsagency.blogspot.com and announced within Google News, Facebook, DIGG and FreeRepublic.com. The news content site will be delivered from both from a blog and from a conventional Website to be located at www.unitedstatesnewsagency.com.

The United States News Agency is planning on opening news bureaus in New York, Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles with overseas offices in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Moscow, Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Japan, Kuwait, Iraq and China.

"The United States News Agency is being launched on Memorial Day in honor of the many men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the United States and protect our basic democratic values," says Leyden. "The USNA is pro USA, pro democracy and pro Internet Web 2.0."

The above news content was edited and SEO optimized in New York for the Internet by Leyden Communications.
